Take a Picture - Day 86 - Into the Blue

Wow I can't believe its the last day of March already!  So much for it going out like a lamb lol  I've been framing my photos (all 18 of them) to hang up for tomorrow and it took awhile cause I like to Windex the inside and outside of the glass to make sure no dust or spec get inside b/w the photo and glass.  I've always loved the blue color of Windex and since I've used it alot today I am dedicating my take a picture to it!  Maybe I've also been inhaling too much of since i'm making it the photo of the day lol lol

It's easy being green!

Along with my photography exhibit I will also be displaying my Kermit the frog collection which I haven't displayed since Nov. 2009.  It will be good to get kermit out of the box

Of course while I there I bought pickles too, fresh pickles that haven't gone sour yet, along with almond stuffed olives.   Two of my favorite kinds of foods right under one roof!! It's great!

Take a Picture - Day 79 - Sprinter......

That's the word I'm using to describes todays weather, snowy in the morning then sunny in the afternoon.

My postcards for my show finally came in today so I can drop some off at the library!  I've been spending the past fews days selecting, cropping, & tweaking the photos that are going to be part of my show! 

Today's photo is of more spring spouting up. When I came home today I noticed out of the corner of my eye a bit of yellow and walked across to the other side of the house and discovered this, which I never noticed before today lol !

Here is a close up of the flowers!  This one looks like corn on the cob stalk!

Then found this in the driveway I wonder if bunny was eating this lol !

Take a Picture - Day 74 - freebies!

Today I went Laura's brother (Michael) wedding at Lake Valhalla Club in Montville which was a nice place with a pretty lake view.  Good food and dancing (not as much as i thought there was going to be) and got to take home the flower center piece which was done by Laura's aunt who owns a flower shop in PA!

Then when I came home I got another freebie in the mail.  A pair of orbit gum flip flops that I filled out the form for a long time ago and forgot about!  Great addition to my flip flop collection!

Take a Picture - Day 73 - Foodie Education

Well tonight for the first time (since it was built) I went into Whole Foods (at the Bergen mall) to try to get inspired with some red items for my upcoming exhibit.  I first came across these tomatoes that were definitely abnormal but photo worthy to me!

Then I came across these, which I have never seen before and never new they "pooped" out that color egg as well, saves money on dye around Easter time! !  Also, can't believe the price of them either!!

So I think now I will try to frequent Whole Foods a little more often now, to educate myself more on healthy and foods you don't see everyday! 

Plus, got some rose pino giriot that I hope is good!

Take a Picture - Day 72

Well today was such a nice day, it turned out to be warmer than I thought and when I got home from work Tom & I took a ride in the mini with the top down!  Spring is definetly in the air!  So we went to best buy to return something and printer shop (saw some potentials, but going to shop online to see if I can get coupons and save more money!!).  Then went to staples to do the same and as we were leaving I noticed how in the back of the parking lot there is this little patch of wilderness in the heart of paramus.  Here are some shots of it!

Then after that went to dunkin doughnuts because I got a postcard for a free drink for my b-day and I was shocked that they didn't have green frosted doughts or have green kreme filled ones either for St Patty's day, all they had was this!

I guess because St. Patty's day isn't as popular as valentines day because they had heartshapped doughnuts this year!  Then as we were coming out the sun was setting and zoomed in on this tree sunset shot!

Overall it was a good day and I have a major sugar high from the doughnuts I ate!

Take a Picture - Day 70 - "Bunny" !

Skipped days 68 & 69 and was thinking day 70 was going to be a wash too until I pulled up in my driveway tonight and saw my pal bunny.

Ever since I moved in last summer, often I would see this brown bunny who is so cute, don't know where it comes from but it just loves our back yard.  When the cold weather came in, bunny disappeared which is to be expected. 

The other day I saw it again, but couldn't get a clear shot.  Then tonight coming home I got excited again when I saw "bunny" and it got scared off by my headlights and went to the side of the garage where the light isn't shinning so I tried my best to take some shots of it (I was surprised that it wasn't scared off my camera flash).  I went in closer and snapped some more shots, but they came out blurry, until bunny ran away from me.  I tweaked this photo a bit in photoshop (it kinda has that tales from the darkside look now).  I will try again to catch bunny during daylight hours because it is soo cute!

Take a Picture - Day 67 - skyline history

Well today my mom and I visited my great uncle who is still in the hospital (in North Bergen) since his fall and is now doing rehab on his knees. He is doing much better and walking great compared to before.

He was out in the hallway sitting down looking at the skyline on the 5th floor which offers a great view of it.  My great uncle then pointed out a building to me and said it was Grants tomb, which I never really realized or noticed all the times i've looked at the skyline. 

I also noticed some other unique shaped bulidings as well.

I also discovered that I really need to venture out to the city more often and explore what is out there.  I am soo city sheltered lol lol!

Take a Picture - Day 66 - Citrus

Tonight we went to Joel & Meg's house for a dessert party where Meg made all the desserts.  She made this citrus tart dessert from a recipe she saw and was kinda disappointed because it didn't look like the photo since she used pink grapefruit instead of ruby red.  I told her that the photo was probably photoshopped anyway.  So to prove a point this is what I did!

 about a glowing lake in Australia due to the algae and salt & lake water mixing together.  It makes for some great photography and I hope I can improve my nighttime photography and capture great shots like that!

Take a Picture - Day 60 - Lost in Translation

Today we hung out with a good friend of ours and went to Mitsuwa Japanese market where we ate in their food court and shopped at their store.  Got some really good grape flavored gum and pocky which is chocolate sticks covered in white chocolate.  While browsing in the one of the aisles this product just stopped me, thought it was funny that they would put an angry fist face on their product to try to sell it, but touch and looking at it, i think it was a Mr clean magic eraser type thing.

Take a Picture - Day 58 - Use your head!

I love my glass head!

It's the perfect home accessory, even though someone that shall not be named does not lol 

I bought it many years ago at Pier One Imports and it's also great for a hat stand too! 

Currently I have it atop my bookcase and looked over tonight and noticed a different side to it and saw the color from my other vases was showing through and had to take a pic!

I also did another "photo shoot" with it a few years ago with my rotating portable disco call behind it and called the photo disco head!  Yep, I love my home accents!

The shows must go on!!

Here is an update on the exhibit end of things! 

For the month of March my black & white exhibit is going on at the Maywood Public library. 

I think this week my article is coming out in both the community news and Maywood's own Our Town paper as well.

Then for the month of April my work will be displayed at Franklin Lakes Public Library (confirmed it today with Paula from there, who was very nice!). There will be an artist reception, stay tuned for the date! Along with my photography, my Kermit the Frog collection will also be on display in their two display cases.

I'm also waiting to hear back from Upper Saddle River as to which month they want me to exhibit, its going to be either June, July, August or September.  Stay tuned for that as well!

So for the next few months I will be busy, but in a good way!!

Take a Picture - Day 56 - March comes in like a shake

Well today March did come in like a lion a little bit, and I had to start the month off right by having the one and only Shamrock shake from McDonalds.  I was so excited to hear that they brought this back this year, I haven't had one of these in a long time.  I'm not the only one with shamrock shake mania!

Also, here is a first I'm in a photo for once today!  Went to the movies tonight with mom ($6 in edgewater) and saw I am # 4, pretty good movie! When we were leaving the theater we noticed this cutout so I posed with it, so now I can say I've been to prom lol lol.  Mom tried to pose with it too, but she was too short for her whole head to fit!!
