Take a Picture - Day 114 - Sick Orange

Came across this in the supermarket today and just looked like it was vomiting or has an outer belly button.  It's nice for pic of the day, but this will not be making it into my orange photo exhibit!

Take a Picture - Day 111 - Walkabout

Yesterday both Tom & I had to idea to start walking a little bit each day this week since we our doing the March of Dimes walk this sunday to get us used to walking.

We were walking down our street before we came to an dead end and came across this creek.

 




Then made a few turns and ended up on Spring Valley Ave and saw this a sign for this.........

I never knew this existed before and walked the trail which I think is about 1/2 a mile and came across this tree stump

Took a trip to Whole Foods to get inspired by orange this time and just when I amazed by the emu eggs they now had this.........

......an Ostrich Egg and it's $10 bucks at more than the Emu egg and double the size of it too.

I can't belive people actually buy these things!!  Imagine color that egg for Easter lol !!

Take a Picture - Day 106 - Past few days...

I realized today that it's been almost over a week since I took a picture and blogged.  It didn't even feel like it like it.  Well between the weather, having techincal difficulties with my router, and not feeling well yesterday, that's how the days got away.  But its ok, i've also been working on which photos i'm going to have in my "Orange" exhibit for the month of May in Bergenfield (click on the upcoming show & reception link by the top)

We recently put up this chandelier in the showroom and I love the way the crystals catch the prisim of colors.

Finally was able to get a picture of my brother's cat Freya and the best view of his apt from his Kitchen window in North Bergen (border of Edgewater).



 

Day 102

Even though the weather was bad it was a day to celebrate as it was my mom's b-day and we got her a cake from my local bakery and loved the purple flowers they put on it.  I love flower frosting!

Take a Picture - Day 100 - say hello to my little friend

Wow, I can't believe its been 100 days since I started this.  Missed a bunch of days here and there, but hey I'm not always inspired, but I like the challenge still.

I finally got a printer, after looking in stores and online finally decided on one and of course bought it online using a coupon and got free shipping and received it yesterday.  It's a canon (just like my camera) and its wireless which is great because I can keep it tucked under my end table as shown in m photo of the day!  I'll have to find a smaller bench type thing to put it on instead of the box since i need room to open up the scanner part!

After an hour of trying to connect it to my router and calling about it finally got it to work and the first thing i printed out was coupons of course!!! lol

I've been noticing and seeing this plant/flower for the past week everywhere on the highway everyday and love the brighness of it especially on a gloomy day like yesterday and today the color is just more vibrant against the gray sky.  I have no green thumb at all and have no idea what this is!  So if anyone can tell me that would be great!

Take a Picture - Day 97 - Spring is here!

Today spring finally decided to come and when I came today I had to go out for awhile and enjoy the weather.  So I went to the James A. McFaul  Environmental Center in Wyckoff where they have peacocks and park paths to walk around.  They had moved the peacocks and peahen to a more covered area.

Then keep hearing the sounds of the two turkeys that were there (the neck would've been great for my red series, but oh well lol)

Then on the way into park saw some free roaming deer, then saw some more deer inside the enclsoure including this white deer which I have never seen before!

Had my art reception for my exhibit yesterday and it was nice to see some people I haven't seen in awhile.

Now that my red reception is done with, now I'm starting to think about my next color exhibit orange.  I do have some shots to start off with, but soon I will go out and take some more.  Like tonight in the car driving home in Tom's car noticed the oraange glow that was on the dashboard Jesus we have in the car!

 

Then also got this motion/blurry shot while driving in the car as well!

I saw this article on yahoo about natural wonders being featured in National Geographic Magazine and it also mentioned how you can submit your own photo that people vote on.  I will try to submit one of my own.  What a cool honor it would be to appear in this magazine, but the photo competion is really good as well!

I've passed this sign so many times on Route 4 East right before the Flecther Ave exit before the bridge and never really noticed it until Tom pointed it out to me one day!  He also said I should try to submit this to Jay Leno's headlines segment as well.  It's worth a shot!!

Today I went to Target in Riverdale (on 23 north), even though I have a Target like 2 mintues away from me, its so crowded in the parking lot and store on a Saturday.  Plus this one always seems to be empty, even tonight I found a close parking space and the store was empty, so it's worth the drive on a Saturday! 

I'm also glad I went there too because I found more Kermit shirts (just when I think I there is enough).  They are actually from the Men's department (annoys me that they have cooler graphic tees than women) but they are size small so they should be fine!

The best part was that one was on sale for $6.98 and I had a gift card too so I got them for nothing really.  They are so cute!

I saw this when I was leaving work today on the ground, I've always like seeing these and it brighten up the cloudly day!

Then afterwards heading towards Franklin Lakes Library and put up my photos (come to my recepton to see them!) and my kermit collection in 2 cases!
