I have no idea what town these were in, but all of the sudden I started hearing them and saw them in the distance from my window.  Here are some that came out the best to me!

Take a Picture - Day 183 - Green Lantern Like Glow

I was eating dinner tonight and stopped and noticed the way the sun was reflecting through the ginger ale bottle giving this green glow almost green lantern like!

I then started taking different angles of the bottles.

It's amazing sometimes what just pops out me to photograph while other people pass it on by, guess its the photographer in me!  Who knows maybe I might consider this for my green exhibit.

Take a Picture - Day 182 - Cat photo shoot

Tonight I was at my brother's apt to hang up my orange fish photo he wanted for his bathroom.  As you can see my photography goes great in every room including the bathroom:

Then practiced my animal shooting skills by doing a mini photo shoot with his cat Freya!

I love how her eyes match the litter!

She looks mad in this one!

She is just chilling here & her eyes blend in with the wall as well!

Take a Picture - Day 181 - 4th of July

First lets start off with a photo I forgot to include for day 179 of the chandelier that was at macalusso's continuing my fascination with looking up at things:

Today Tom made a 4th of July jello pie that I saw in a Kraft recipe email I got.  The bottom later was blue raspberry, middle layer cool whip, & top layer is strawberry daiquiri.  It was really good!

Then tried to capture fireworks on the TV by pausing it, but it was hard since the screen is dark to begin with but this is my best result!

Take a Picture - Weekend Days 179 & 180

Yesterday (7/2/11)was at my friends wedding and before my camera's batteries died (post before about rule #3) got some nice flower shot of the cocktail hour table centerpiece & the reception table center piece.

Today was experimenting with my camera phone and discovered that if your trying to take a photo at night of a light up sign it just shows up as a light blob. Here are some examples:  Can you guess what store signs they are?

Not a store sign but thought it was cool that I could at least take macro shots with the phone camera! 

Important Photography Rule - #3

Always make sure you have back up batteries with you, even if you think you don't need them. 

Yesterday went to a friends wedding and my batteries died at the reception right at the moment they were introducing the bride and groom. So the rest of the night I couldn't take photos of me and my friends.  Luckily they did have a photobooth at the recepton. 

I had just put in new batteries two days ago that were the rechargable kind and I even checked the package to see if I had to charge them before using and I didn't see anything.  So I'm guessing that they are only at 50% power when you first buy them and you should charge them to make them full power.

Lesson learned!!

We recently hung up this new drum shade chandelier with crystal strands hanging down from it at work and it's really pretty but I loved the view and perspective of it looking up it from the bottom and seeing all the crystal strands coming at you!

Take a Picture - Day 176 - Stock it up

Yes folks my photo of the day is of my baby stock pile (in the upstairs attic area), but I am proud of it!  Its not as extreme as those that are shown on Extreme Couponing on TLC, but hey its a start!

I couldn't resist the sale that my grocery store (pathmark) has this week canned vegetables for only .39 cents (limit 12!).  Along with the cans of veggies is my large bulk of napkins and paper towels I got from costco!.  I love using coupons and saving money,  I'm a coupon princess!!

Haven't posted in a few days and wanted to share these photos I took this past sunday when I took a walk around the green in Morristown!  Such vibrant colors to the flowers, but alas due to my lack of green thumb I haven't a clue as to what kinds of flowers these are!

Highlights from my hiking trip last saturday at the Delaware water Gap, which was nice scenary once you get to the top, but boy didn't realize how steep the hike would be!!  I did feel accomplished and really tired when we were done and saw how high it was!

lack of inspiration

I have to say that lately I have not been feeling inspired to take photos, so my "take a picture a day" project has been falling by the wayside (and I really wanted to kinda try to do everyday in June).  It kinda makes me feel like maybe I'm not that good of a photographer as I think I am, but I think artists or anybody in a creative field goes through this in general.

So I was google lack of inspiration to try to find article or tips on what to do and ran across a blog called lack on inspiration where this girl is also doing a photo a day just like me (she started in March). 

So it was nice to see that other people (besides me and Sabrina) are doing the same thing and trying to be inspired everyday! 

Hopefully my inspiration will come back soon!

interesting artwork of Laura W. McClanahan

I've been staring at this artwork (digital photography) for the past couple of sundays at the electric grill in the hyatt morristown.  Part of it is because it's different shades of blue, green & aqua and also kinda reminds me of when I do my macro upclose & personal shots. 

Finally checked out the artist website and it's pretty cool stuff, although I can't afford it!!

I got a new light for my dining room (since I work at a lighting store I can get them at a good price... why not!)  and after having bulb trouble (insert light bulb joke here lol), we finally got it lit.

Was at a friends house last night who lives in that area and their house was a 2 minute walk away from this tiny beach and pond, which reminded me of the beach at Camp of the Woods in Speculator, NY.
