Important Photography Rule - #3

Always make sure you have back up batteries with you, even if you think you don't need them. 

Yesterday went to a friends wedding and my batteries died at the reception right at the moment they were introducing the bride and groom. So the rest of the night I couldn't take photos of me and my friends.  Luckily they did have a photobooth at the recepton. 

I had just put in new batteries two days ago that were the rechargable kind and I even checked the package to see if I had to charge them before using and I didn't see anything.  So I'm guessing that they are only at 50% power when you first buy them and you should charge them to make them full power.

Lesson learned!!

Important photography rule - #2

Well today I learned and reminded myself again of another important rule in photography.  Well as I stated a few weeks back of rule # 1 of never leave home without making sure you have your memory card in your camera. 

#2's rule is when you see or have an photo opportunity shoot it and don't take it for granted  and put tit off thinking its always going to be there.  In my case, there is this house that I would drive by all the time near my house on Maywood Ave that had this sign that they must've hand made in shape of a guitar with that statement "All you need is Love" and at nighttime it would be lit up with red lightbulbs.  I remember seeing these house and sign long before I even moved to Maywood and wondered about it.  I was all set to take it today as I was going to work and then again at night and guess of course...........it was gone and taken down after being up since like before Christmas.  I had all this time and it was always on my way and never took the time. 

Totally learned my lesson there!!

Take A Picture - Day 24 - Chocolat

Well today I learned a very important rule in photography!  Always make sure your memory card is in the camera before you leave.  That is exactly what I did today and found this out when I was about to take a photo when the camera informed me of my sillyness, then I realized that I left the card inside my laptop!  Luckily I had my phone camera as a back up!

Well tonight I had one of the best dinners ever.....Choclate!!  Tom & I went to Night of Chocolate at Hawthorne Library tonight.  A event that the Friends of the Library have been a few year where they serve nothing but choclate desserts of all varities including this lovely arrangement of lindt chocolates!

Dinner is served!

They even had a drawing where you can win prizes and guess what..........my name actually got called.  So I got this lovely prize of an Irish scarf (it was between this or a bunch a mug sets and a mug is the last thing I need lol lol)
