A different photography perspective

I saw this photographer on the today show a few weeks ago and was amazed by his birds eye view photography and the unique way he captures it, which is so scary to me!

30 Day Photo Challenge - Last 5 Days

The past few days have been a little bit busy for me with going to a Keane concert, birthday dinner, working an extra day.  I have not given up on this challenge so here are the last 5 days of the challenge.  Enjoy!

Day 26 - Playing with Shadows

This was taken at the Keane concert  I went to at Radio City Music Hall

Day 27 - Natural Light

This was taken in the middle of the ocean while I was on my cruise

Day 28 - Incorporate Motion

I call this one Spinning - I took this picture while I was spinning around in my computer chair

Day 29 - Clouds

Day 30 - Yourself 30 Days Later

30 Day Photo Challenge - Day 25 - Whatever you Want

My photo today was taken in Asbury Park, NJ.  I liked the perspective of Tillie in the background and this statue of Patriarch Athenagoras (Man of Love 1886-1972) in the foreground.

30 Photo Challenge - Day 24 - Favorite color scheme

Of course teal is included in my favorite color scheme. I got this peacock pillow as a Christmas gift this year from my mom!

30 Day Photo Challenge - Days 22 & 23

Day 22 - Someone you Love

This is a picture of my dad & I for my birthday in 2011!

Day 23 - Childhood Memory

One of the things I remember when I was in Disney World for the first time with my parents was being on this ride.

30 Day Photo Challenge - Day 21 - Sunset

This was taken on my vacation to Rhode Island on Ocean Drive in August 2009

30 Day Photo Challenge - Day 20 - Whatever I want

When I was donating blood today you have to fill our a questionnaire about if you have ever been out of the country in the past three years and the nurse asked me where I was.  I was telling her about my cruise to the Bahamas and going horse back riding on the beach.  On a cold day like today I wish I was there!

30 Day Photo Challenge - Days 18 & 19

Day 18 - Depicting Emotion

This was taken by my photographer friend James Damion a few years back in a supermarket and I'm elated to be holding my favorite cereal!

Day 19 - Landscape

Of course I had to share a picture of the Grand Canyon, I went there on a trip back in 2005

30 Day Photo Challenge - Day 17 - Street Lights

I took a picture of these street lights in Roswell, New Mexico in 2005 on a road trip with my Mom.    They really love to make everything alien themed in the town lol

30 Day Photo Challenge - Day 16 - Experimenting with Light

This photo was taken to create the effect of turning night into day.  I took this picture with a high ISO & a long exposure .

30 Day Photo Challange - Day 15 - Whatever you want

30 Day Photo Challenge - Day 14 - Focusing on Eyes

I love green eyes, especially Sebastian's eyes and in this photo I love how they have little bit of  the reflection of the TV or another light reflecting off of them.

30 Day Photo Challange - Day 13 - Photo Edit You Like

A lot of times I use photo shop to tweak some of the photos I use when I have an exhibit coming up.  Sometimes its just a simple edit like levels or curves to even out the tone.  Other times I like to use other photo edits such as:

Clone tool/ patch tool

I took this pic in Martha's Vineyard & liked just the four boats & used the clone tool and patch tool to get rid of the back boat and some of the extra rope.

Vibrancy Tool

I took this pic on a hike in Speculator, NY and wanted brighten it up a bit because the original was hazy and muted.

30 Day Photo Challenge - Day 12 - Same Shot Different Light

This is the same shot as yesterday but in sepia tone.  I actually like the tone and texture of the trees in this shot versus the black and white.  Makes me want to take more sepia toned photos.

30 Day Photo Challenge - Day 11 - Black & White

Black & white photography is something I usually don't do very often, but I do have a few in my collection that I like including this photo.

I took on a stop over in Indiana overlooking one of the great lakes on a trip driving to Mt Rushmore.

30 Day Photo Challenge - Days 9 & 10

The reason why there wasn't a post yesterday was:  A:  I wasn't feel well yesterday, B:  I was busy watching Golden Globes, and C: I honestly forgot!  So here are the past two days:

Day 9 - Something from a distance

This pictures was taken looking in the distance of a path at Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton, NJ

Day 10 - Whatever you want

Today is another day where I get to post what I want so today is a photo that I took of a peacock feather and then did a photoshop effect to it by solarizing it and then making it pixelated.

30 Day Photo Challenge - Day 8 - Something Close Up

This is the bottom of a soda bottle, I loved the color & texture of the photo.

30 Day Photo Challange - Day 7 - Silhoutte

I had taken this picture a few years ago at one of my old jobs.  I remember walking into the office one day & as I approached my desk & looked on the floor I noticed how the way the papers were stacked on my desk created this face in the shadows on the floor & the garbage can created the neck of the face.

30 Day Photo Challenge - Day 6 - From a Low Angle

This was taken inside the lobby of Radio City Music Hall when I went to see the Rockettes last month.

30 Day Photo Challenge - Day 5 - Whatever You Want

Since its whatever I want today of course I'm going to have a picture of Sebastian the best cat ever! lol  For Christmas I got an electric blanket (best gift ever) in white so I never see cat hair too.  Sebastian loves it & its so cute because he blends in with the blanket.  Its cat camouflage!

30 Day Photo Challenge - Day 4 - From a high angle

This photo was taken on my honeymoon cruise on in my room balcony looking down at the lower decks & the ocean!

30 Day Photo Challenge - Day 3 - Favorite Place to Be

One of my favorite places to be is Disney World especially Epcot World Showcase where they have the different countries each with their own restaurant featuring that country's food.   This is a photo of Epcot Morocco (that is based on 3 cities) where the real Morocco paid for it to be built so it would be done right!

30 Day Photo Challenge - Day 1 & 2

Day 1 is a picture of yourself & Day 2 is what I wore today so I decided to combine the days together.  Today I had to work so here is my typical work uniform.  I normally don't wear yellow pants but I found them for $10 at Old Navy since our color are blue & yellow.  I'm really dedicated aren't I lol !

New Year New Challenge

Happy New Year!   My friend Jack McKenzie tagged me in a post on FB about a 30 day photo challenge & I accepted the challenge since I was looking for something new to do with my photography anyway!     I will be posting on here & on my take a picture blog since it ties in with that as well!

So far I haven't have any new shows lined up, the end of the year snuck up on me & I haven't inquired about anything yet, but I will keep you posted when that changes.  I will also try to put add more of my photographs on my Fine Art America and zazzle sites and keep you posted on that as well!

New Month New Challenge New Stuff

Today I went back to Rockn' Joe Cafe in Union to take down my artwork that's been on display for the past two months.  It was great to have my work on display for that long and in an area I never displayed before.   The owner Ted even bought two of my photographs which was great!  While I was there I got a chance to check out the next group of artists including Anna Polkowska which I bought 6" x 9" print of this painting:

The six artists work will be on display from today though January 31st - more info click here

I realized that its been one month since I last posted anything on here.  Some of it due to being unmotivated, being sucked into the game world of candy crush saga lol (up to level 51 now! lol), and thanksgiving stuff.  Now that its December and Christmas time I feel inspired again to post a new picture ever day until Christmas that is Christmas inspired!  I will be posting this in my take a picture section of my blog.

Also be on the lookout for more zazzle products that I will be adding a little at a time for some great gifts to give starting with my 2013 photo calendar!

Puddles

When I was walking out of work today towards my car I saw this on the ground!

This one was taken with my phone camera in normal mode

This one was taken with my negative filter on my phone camera

The Paths

I love taking pictures of paths especially when it winds & you can't see the end of it.

This one was taken at a corn maze

This one was taken when I was driving the other day I loved how the trees all lined up the same

New Take a Picture Post

http://takeanewpicture.blogspot.com/2012/10/stock-it-up.html

Interesting Articles

I came across these two articles in my Fine Art America weekly update email.

This first article comes from the phoblographer & is about developing your photography confidence & offers simple but useful advice which I need to remind myself often!

http://www.thephoblographer.com/2012/08/27/useful-photography-tip-40-develop-your-confidence/

This second article comes from Eric Maisel asking the question do negative thoughts kill your creativity?  Which is also something I sometimes go through myself with my work.

http://ericmaisel.com/fine-arts-america/

Two great articles that go hand in hand. Enjoy!

Lucky Mileage

The title says it all! I was lucky enough to be driving locally where I could pull over & take this shot! Next month will be 5 years since I got my car (aka Filippo Focus) & as you can see I've been doing a lot of driving! This car has been good to me so I'm hoping it will last a few more years!

Crafty Results

This is the result of my craft project from when I first posted about back on my take a picture post.

I made this table using orbit gum wrappers, black craft paint, & mod podge (lots of layer of it).

I actually finished the table a few months ago & just forgot to post the picture!

This was a fun project to do & makes me want to do more crafty thngs!

Hope you enjoy!

Interesting Article from Art Pro Motivate

Zoo Times

Last Saturday (Aug 25th)  I went to the Bergen County Zoo with my mother & they had this exhibit that was going on through today!  You pay an extra $1 to walk in this exhibit with all these different butterflies flying around you!  It was really a cool experience, especially for someone like me who is not that fond of bugs.  For butterflies though I make an exception!  Here are a few of my favorite ones!

This one reminds me of a peacock feather!

This one looks like a leaf to me!

new take a picture post

It's been awhile since I posted a "pic of the day"  so enjoy!!
